for high resolution look here : http://www.kamermans.net/Designs/Fishing.jpg

Name: Sander Kamermans
Country: Netherlands
Software: Photoshop CS2
Original size : 5500 x 3800 pixels

I made this with Photoshop CS 2 in about 45 hours with a wacom intous3 A4.
Here are my reference pictures: http://www.kamermans.net/Designs/vrouw4/ref.jpg

First of all this is not a totally new picture but a new version of my “Fishing” drawing.

Here is the url to the previous version : Fishing by  MetallManson

I though to updated the picture but some people say the previously picture was better, so they advised me that is a better idea to publish this one on this own (I hope this is not a crime,.. or against the rules, because if it is please let me know ;)). Secondly I want to thanks all people that comment and critic my previous picture!,..
I tried to put all the critics I got in this new version. I hope its better now
I also made here more like a mermaid . In here hair you can see sea anemones now . And I updated the hair.

Very, very nice! Both this one and your original version have their strong points, and they each present a different mood. I enjoy the higher contrast on this one--gives it more drama--and the incorporation of the fish and anemones into her hair is an excellent touch. :) The one thing I think you lost in this version is the incredible texturing on the fish in the glass. Still, it's an awesome piece, and I do believe the hair is quite improved.

i'm still gonna say that the nose is slightly off perspective compared to the rest of the face but i could be wrong
also, dont like the grey part of the water...would have preffered it with a more blue-ish tone
really digging the reflections though

It's great on its own way,
but i prefer the previous version.
The darker tone setting doesn't really
add to the whole IMO

Still it's quite masterly

I already commented in your WiP - as with Wallace, I do like this reworking but on balance your original feels free-er and more spontaneous to me.... but I do like the starfish on her shoulder - that IS a nice touch!

I like it and the new version is great but the anemones... I really like everything on the pic but the anoemones O__o they don´t fit somehow. It gives her the look of medusa.

Both the lighter and the darker version are good, it depends on the environment you want to convey. The lighter one looks like shallow waters (e.g. swimming pool, laguna), while this darker one looks like a deep ocean.

In general I feel the contrast in colours is a bit too high, colours tend to desaturate under water. Since it's near the surface, it's should be okay.
The caustics are fantastic. Hard to do, but you pulled it off!.

Wow, I love the lighting here. It really looks like she's underwater, good mood created here.

Concept:

Strong

Technical Skill:

Strong

Impact/impression:

Strong
Pros:
Lighting, water, balance, composition, I love everything here! :)
Cons:
Nothing much, only that the starfish seems a bit flat compared to her shoulder. :)
Overall opinion/feedback:
In the original version, my focus point was the fish. There was a smoothness to the way the fish fell and she gently caught it.

In this version, the broken glass seems to add to the harshness of the landing and my focus is shifted from the fish to her lighter face. I like the background and details on this version better, but the fish, in my oppinion, was your strong point in the last version.

Awesome rendition! :)
